about dr. MICHAEL ramsey

Dr. Michael Ramsey (he/him/his) specializes in the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of children, teens, and young adults. Dr. Ramsey is interested in assessing both the patient and family dynamics to create a holistic and behavioral approach to Psychiatry. Dr. Ramsey coordinates with therapists, counselors, and psychologists to ensure a well-rounded and team approach in the care of patients. Dr. Ramsey also coordinates with schools in the creation of a comprehensive IEP or 504 plan. In addition, Dr. Ramsey specializes in the care and management of children, adolescents, and young adults with Developmental issues, Autism, Autistic Spectrum issues, Asperger’s, and LGBTQ related issues.
Dr. Ramsey in a Board Certified Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist. Dr. Ramsey has a Bachelor’s degree in Education from Arizona State University in Arizona and a Master’s of Science in Health Professions Education from Western University of Health Sciences in California. Dr. Ramsey earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree at Western University of Health Sciences in California. From there, Dr. Ramsey did his residency in Psychiatry at the University of Chicago in Illinois and the Ohio State University in Ohio where he served as Chief Resident. Dr. Ramsey then completed his Child Fellowship from the Ohio State University in Ohio. Dr. Ramsey has significant experience working in a variety of Mental Health settings including inpatient, emergency psychiatry, prison psychiatry, community mental health, and private outpatient psychiatry. Dr. Ramsey has been a member of the medical staff at Overlake Medical Center and Seattle Children’s Hospital for many years. In addition, Dr. Ramsey in active in teaching medical students and allied health providers from Washington State University, Pacific Northwest University, and the University of Washington. Dr. Ramsey is also active on the state of Washington ECHO program and is a Center Of Excellence for Autism. Dr. Ramsey participates on the national committee for Autism and Intellectual Developmental Disabilities for the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Dr. Ramsey has also been awarded numerous accolades including Top Doc for the Seattle area.
Dr. Ramsey enjoys performing in local musical ensembles and theater. He likes traveling to Alaska and Hawai’i, volunteering for the Iditarod Sled Dog Race, and exploring the outdoor activities here in Washington. He also spends time doting on his two ever-growing children and his adorable dogs.
